Football Association of Zambia President Andrew Kamanga is pleased with the performance of the Zambia National Team in the first leg of the Chan qualifiers and has urged them to do more in the return leg.
The FAZ President was speaking last night at the Kenneth Kaunda International Airport when he welcomed the triumphant Copper Bullets and the technical bench upon arrival from Eswatini.
“On behalf of the FAZ executive, we are very pleased that once again you have delivered to expectations. These games are played over two legs and we have done well with the first leg, now we need to prepare for the second leg,” he said.
“We are going to impress upon adequate preparations so that we achieve the target of qualifying to next year’s Chan 2020 tournament,” he added.
Kamanga went on to urge the players to remain focused and make sure they seal their qualification to the tournament.
“Let’s remain focused, let’s remain committed and as always when we call upon you, let’s put in our best. The FAZ executive will always do what is necessary to ensure that you are adequately motivated so that you remain focused on delivering,” he said.
The FAZ president also urged the players to continue working hard so that they can break into the senior national team.
Meanwhile, Faz General Secretary Adrian Kashala as confirmed that FAZ has written to Caf to have the venue changed to Heroes Stadium in Lusaka. Zambia beat Eswatini by one goal to zero through an Amity Shamende second-half strike.
The second leg will be played in Zambia on 19th October 2019 at the National Heroes Stadium in Lusaka.
