Lameck Banda Hospitalised After Incident in Napoli vs Lecce Clash

Zambian international Lameck Banda was taken to hospital after feeling unwell during Lecce’s Serie A encounter with SSC Napoli on Sunday evening.

The winger was forced to leave the field of play following a collision during the match between US Lecce and Napoli. The incident occurred after Banda was involved in contact with an opposing player in the 86th minute, prompting concern from teammates and medical staff.

Lecce’s medical team immediately attended to the 25-year-old before he was taken off the pitch as a precaution.

Banda was later transported to Cardarelli Hospital in Naples, where he is currently under medical observation.

Initial reports indicate that the decision to take the Zambian international to hospital was precautionary to allow doctors to conduct further checks and ensure his condition is stable.

Banda, who has been a key player for Lecce this season, has established himself as one of Zambia’s top talents playing in Europe. His pace and attacking ability have made him an important figure both for his Italian club and the Zambia national football team.

Fans and the Zambian football community have since sent messages of support, hoping for positive news regarding his condition.

Further updates from Lecce and medical staff are expected once assessments at Cardarelli Hospital are completed.
