Zambia Women’s national team forward Rachel Kundananji scored a consolation goal as her side SD Eibar suffered a 3-1 defeat at the hands of Athletico Bilbao in the Spanish Primera Division Feminina.
LucÃa GarcÃa’s goal and Azkona’s first half double was enough to secure maximum points for Bilbao at Lezama.
Garcia opened the scores opened the scores in the 6th minute with a close range finish.
Azkona then took over the show first benefiting from miscommunication between the Eibar keeper and a defender to slot home with easy before heading home a corner three minutes later.
Kundananji then pulled one back four minutes to half time, netting a powerful low shot beating the Bilbao keeper with easy.
The second half did not produce any goals as Bilbao cruised to a well deserved 3-1 win.
The goal is Kundananji’s second for Eibar having netted a late winner in Eibar’s narrow 1-0 win over relegation bound Rayo Vallecano.
Eibar are currently 13th on the log with 16 points while European Champions, Barcelona lead the log with 57 points.
