The KoPa ball will be used in this year’s ABSA Cup tournament which kicks off on 11th March.
Zambian Premier League manager Brian Mulenga confirmed the development during Wednesday’s ABSA Cup draw held at ABSA Bank headquarters.
Teams that will reach the final will also wear the KoPa jersey.
It’s tradition with the ABSA Cup for the sponsors to buy company branded jerseys for the final and this year it will be KoPa jerseys that will be provided.
FAZ last year announced the idea of a Zambia Super League official match ball following the start of a trial run.
The KoPa is already on trial and has been used in selected provincial League games the ZamFoot Crew understands.
Meanwhile two time Champions, Power Dynamos will start their 2023 ABSA Cup campaign against Mufulira Wanderers while 2022 runners up Red Arrows will face FC MUZA in the quarter finals.
Green Buffaloes and Green Eagles will face Forest Rangers and Trident respectively.
The quarter-finals are scheduled for the weekend of March 11 and 12 at Woodlands Stadium with the semi-finals a month later on April 8 and 9 at Arthur Davies Stadium.
The final will take place on Saturday May 13 at the National Heroes Stadium in Lusaka.
