Chililabombwe based outfit, Konkola Blades have confirmed the acquisition of five new players ahead of the second half of the season.
The Beston Chambeshi coached side has made reinforcements ahead of the resumption of the MTN Super League.
Defender Abdulhim Halumoud Mohamed, goalkeeper, Allan Chibwe and midfielder Lassa Kiala lead the list.
Others are former Power Dynamos forward, Biston Banda, and Moses Mawelela, a defensive midfielder.
“Konkola Blades Football Club (KBFC) has reinforced the team by bringing in a total of five new players with the target of improving the team’s performance for the remainder of the 2023/2024 Zambia Super League Season.
The new signings include; Tanzanian central defender Abdulhim Halumoud Mohamed, former Forest Rangers goalkeeper Allan Chibwe and Lassa Kiala, midfielder formerly of Trident Football Club, who join the club on a six months deal. Former Power Dynamos forward, Biston Banda joins the club on a One-year contract.
The club has also signed Moses Mawelela, a defensive midfielder from Kings Academy on a three-year deal.”
Meanwhile, the club has released a total of eight players who include: – Kunda Kabila, Chewe Mukuka, Daniel Sikanyika and David Sinyiza after a mutual separation. Simon Mulenga has been recalled by his parent club, Trident FC.
Victor Kasokola and John Mulalang’abo have been loaned out to Jumulo Football Club until the end of the season, while George Mutanda’a contract was not renewed.
