Eden University Women’s Super League newcomers Konkola Blades Queens FC have confirmed the appointment of former Copper Queens head coach Enala Phiri as new head coach.
As reported by The ZamFoot Crew yesterday, Blades Queens took to social media to confirm the appointment.
The Copper Queens assistant coach will be assisted by Chipulu Chileya.
Konkola Blades qualified to the Eden University Women Super League for the 2025/26 season after winning the ZPL Women National League- North Zone.
They will be participating in the topflight for the very first time in their history. The experienced gaffer will be expected to help the team navigate their first season in the elite league.
Phiri has coached Indeni Roses, defunct NAPSA Stars Ladies, Elite Ladies, ZISD Women and Victorious Queens.

𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐥𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐦𝐛𝐰𝐞, 𝐉𝐮𝐧𝐞 𝟏𝟑, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓: Konkola Blades Queens FC is delighted to officially announce the appointment of Enala Phiri as the new Head Coach of the club, marking a significant step in the club’s journey and its vision.
After an exhaustive search and evaluation, the club’s leadership is confident that Coach Phiri possesses the expertise, leadership, and passion to guide the ‘Sharp Razor’ Queens into an exciting new era, especially with her proven track record and commitment to developing talent, which makes her a perfect fit for the club’s values and ambitions.
Konkola Blades FC (KBFC) president, Davy Mubita welcomed the new coach to the Blades family and wished her success in her journey with the club.
“As Konkola Blades, we are thrilled to welcome Coach Enala Phiri to the Konkola Blades family as she takes up the role of coaching our queens. Her vision aligns with our long-term goals, and we are confident she is the right leader to guide our team to greater heights,” Mubita said.
Coach Phiri, who is currently the first assistant coach for the Senior Zambia Women’s National Soccer Team, is a CAF-A License holder and has a successful coaching career to her name, both at national team level having coached the Under-17 girls in 2006 and went on to being the only female coach for the Under-23 Zambia Women’s National team, and at club level having managed Indeni Rosses, Lusaka Dynamos Lady, as well as NAPSA Stars Women’s teams, shared her passion about joining the club.
“It is such a great and true honour to join this club as Head Coach. I have watched the girls before and I saw great potential in this team and the club as a whole. The girls look organised and eager to learn. I trust I will not have any problem to have them aligned in my strategic goals,” she said.
Coach Phiri, who will be assisted by former KBFC Physical Trainer, Chipulu Chileya, says she is committed to working hard, connecting with the players and promises to make the fans proud and build a team that will only fight for every point, each moment.
And Konkola Blades Queens FC president, Geoffrey Mumba said the new coach will officially take charge of the team from the beginning of the 2025/2026 season to the 2027/2028 season, giving her a three-year deal to solidify the team in the Eden University Women’s Super-Division which they won promotion into following their previous successful 2024/2025 National League campaign.
