MTN Super League side Konkola Blades have confirmed the departure of 16 players led by Prosper Chiluya and Kenani Phiri.
Chiluya and Phiri have returned to their parent clubs ZANACO FC and FC MUZA respectively, the club has confirmed.
“As the club commences its preparations ahead of the upcoming 2026/2027 MTN Super League season, Konkola Blades Football Club (KBFC) hereby announces a major squad restructuring, confirming the departure of 16 players from the senior team.
Regarding loan players, Kenan Phiri has returned to FC MUZA following the expiration of his loan deal, while Prosper Chiluya has also returned to Zanaco FC following the completion of his loan spell.”
The club has also confirmed the departure of Justin Mwanza as earlier reported by the ZamFoot Crew. Mwanza together with Chrispin Kawezya, Christian Mpoyi, Enock Oblenyo, Emmanuel Chikazya, and Laurent Muma leave the club following expiration of their contracts.
“In terms of personnel transitions, the contracts of Justin Mwanza, Chrispin Kawezya, Christian Mpoyi, Enock Oblenyo, Emmanuel Chikazya, and Laurent Muma have expired and will not be renewed for the upcoming campaign.
Additionally, Yanganile Tembo, Mwalimu Mulwanda, and Progress Mukuka, who all spent last season out on loan, have reached the end of their contractual obligations and officially part ways with the club.”
Meanwhile the club has confirmed that Evans Abu has completed a successful permanent transfer to Mufulira Wanderers FC.
The club has further placed four players namely Victor Kasokola, Edward Tembo, Raphael Silwimba, and Reagan Mtonga on the club’s transfer list.

Shampongo adds that as the club looks forward to the 2026/2027 MTN Super League campaign, its focus shifts to strengthening the squad and management is actively working behind the scenes, with new signings to be communicated to the supporters and stakeholders very soon.
