Klings Kangwa settled in Russia …Targets more goals and assists

Zambian midfield ace Klings Kangwa has taken the Tinkoff Russian Premier League by storm this season putting in impressive shifts for Arsenal Tula.

The former Buildcon player has already registered his first goal of the season when he netted a cracker from outside the area as Arsenal Tula succumbed to a 3-2 loss to UFA on Friday, 14th August, and has two assists to his name.

This season whenever he is on the pitch he scores, assists, or contributes to the move that finally ends into a goal. The 21-year-old feels he has finally settled and now understands the Russian football scenery.

“I think yes I have settled and I know the Russian league now and maybe in the future, I will be targeting a move out of here but for now am focused on helping Arsenal Tula do well, ” Kangwa told the ZamFoot Crew in an exclusive interview.

The Happy Hearts product believes individual training has been the key to having the brilliant season he is having so far. Kangwa, Knows he is having a great season but he is targeting doing more to help the team.

“Individual training has helped me a lot, Its time to work. When I came here it was a bit hard, the coach who was here never used to use me in games, I can’t say he was bad but its just time, and everything happens for a reason. I thank God now am playing and doing well,” he said.

“I think according to my performance so far this season I think it’s very good but I want to do even more and continue like this until the end of the season by the grace of God,” he added.

Kangwa was recently voted as the Arsenal Tula player of the month of August an accolade that he is very happy to have won.

On an individual level, Klings Kangwa is targeting being involved in almost all the goals that Tula will score this season.

“I think on an individual level I want to make sure I play all the games, perform well, and be involved in a lot of goals. So far I have been involved in all the goals that we have scored, I scored 1, assisted two, and was involved in the build-up to the league their goals. That’s what I want to work on and score or assist as many goals as I can,” he said.

Winning an individual award as a player it is something good and motivates us to work extra hard. It is what we all want and I worked hard for this award so am very happy to win.

“When we resumed the league after the COVID break last season my target was to play the last eight games, I worked hard and that’s why all these results are coming.”

Kangwa joined Tula last year in July and at first, struggled to break into the starting line up but has now cemented his place in the team.
