Chipolopolo midfielder Klings Kangwa has penned an emotional farewell to Hapoel Be’er Sheva, bringing the curtain down on one of the most successful chapters of his career after leaving the Israeli club as a Hall of Fame inductee.
The Zambia international reflected on his journey from arriving in Israel as a young player with ambitious dreams to departing as one of the club’s most celebrated modern figures.
“From arriving at Hapoel Be’er Sheva as a young player with nothing but a dream, to leaving as a member of the Hall of Fame… this journey has exceeded every expectation I ever had,” Kangwa wrote.
During his time with Hapoel Be’er Sheva, Kangwa played a central role in one of the club’s most successful periods, helping them win the Israeli Premier League, return to European competition and earning the Israeli Premier League Player of the Season award for his outstanding performances.
Kangwa registered 21 league goal contributions, scoring 12 goals and providing nine assists in one of the finest seasons of his career. He won the Israeli State Cup in the 2024/2025 season and was named as the best foreign player in the league.
The midfielder described his induction into the club’s Hall of Fame as a fitting end to an unforgettable spell.
“To close this chapter by being inducted into the Hapoel Be’er Sheva Hall of Fame is a privilege I will carry with me forever,” he added.
Kangwa also paid tribute to everyone who contributed to his success, reserving special appreciation for the club’s supporters.
“To my teammates, coaches, staff, management and above all, the incredible supporters, thank you for believing in me, standing by me and making me feel at home from day one.
“Wearing this badge has been one of the greatest honours of my career and Hapoel Be’er Sheva will always hold a special place in my heart. Thank you for everything. Forever grateful.”
Kangwa’s farewell comes after completing a move to Greek giants Panathinaikos, ending a memorable spell at Hapoel Be’er Sheva in which he established himself as one of the Israeli Premier League’s standout performers and further enhanced his reputation as one of Zambia’s leading football exports.
Kangwa is expected to sign a four-year contract with Panathinaikos, keeping him at the Athens-based club until June 2030. The deal is reportedly worth around €1 million per season.
Panathinaikos agreed a transfer package worth €4.5 million, consisting of a fixed fee of €3.8 million and a further €700,000 in performance-related bonuses.
At Be’er Sheva Kangwa played 84 games in total and made 49 goal contributions (29 goals and 20 assists).
