Kelvin Mwanza to return to FC MUZA

Kelvin Mwanza will return to FC MUZA after the player and the club came to an agreement, The ZamFoot Crew understands.

The two parties came to an agreement after a meeting to settle the disagreements that had erupted.

Kelvin Mwanza has been out of action since the start of the season as a result of the protracted legal dispute.

Background

Kelvin Mwanza announced his departure from FC MUZA after the end of his contract and was reportedly headed to Kitwe based Power Dynamos.

However, MUZA said Kelvin was their player and refused to release him after a verbal agreement to a new contract which triggered a salary increment which he was apparently enjoying for a year or so despite not signing the contract after the verbal agreement.

Mwanza’s agent Lameck Sifeku reported FC MUZA to the Player Status and Transfer Committee following the Mazabuka based side’s refusal to release the player to Power Dynamos after his contract had allegedly expired on July 31.

The Player Status and Transfer Committee referred the matter to the Disciplinary Committee with the recommendation that the player be allowed to move.

Disciplinary Committee Ruling

The FAZ Disciplinary Committee early this month ruled that Mwanza should return to the club following a protracted legal dispute that has kept him off the pitch since the beginning of the season.

During its sitting, the full bench of the Disciplinary Committee overruled the decision of the Player Status Committee that had directed that the player was free to move to a new destination if he so wished.

Conclusion

Despite the ruling by the Disciplinary Committee the player still had no physical contract with FC MUZA.

So for the benefit of the player, the club and Kelvin Mwanza decided to meet and sort out issues.

Mwanza and the Mazabuka based outfit agreed on a new three year deal which is expected to be signed soon. Mwanza is expected to return to training with MUZA next week.

  1. Muza expect him to put in his best! If a player has no desire to stay and play for the club it’s a waste of resources to keep him under contract! In addition support from fellow players will be lacking…hence the entire team will be negatively impacted. The best would have been for the club to recoup their losses and let the boy join his desired club.
