Kelvin Mubanga starts training with Zesco United after an agreement with Nkana

Midfielder Kelvin Mubanga Kampamba has started training with his new teammates at Zesco United after the Ndola giants reached an agreement with Nkana to allow him to join earlier than expected.

Kampamba earlier penned a pre-contract with Zesco United since he was in his last six months of his Nkana contract. The former Power Dynamos man was initially expected to join Zesco United in January after finishing off the last four months of his Nkana deal.

“ZESCO United and Nkana Football Club have reached an agreement that has allowed Kelvin Kampamba to join the eight-times Super League champions earlier than initially projected. The Zambian international midfielder initially signed a two-year pre-contract agreement with ZESCO United which was only going to be activated on 1st January 2021.” read a post on the club’s official website.

ZESCO United Chief Executive Officer(CEO), Richard Mulenga thanked Nkana management for helping in the finalization of the deal.

We are pleased to inform our stakeholders that Kelvin Kampamba has joined us earlier following a fruitful discussion we had with our brothers at Nkana. The two clubs reached an agreement to make Kampamba’s move permanent sooner than later. I wish to thank Nkana Football Club management for making this move possible

Kampamba trained with the rest of the ZESCO United squad for the first time this morning. Team Ya Ziko started their pre-season preparation on Monday ahead of the 2020/2021 FAZ/MTN Super League season.

Kemuka as he is known among his peers believes the important thing now is to focus on understanding the system and style of play.

“I think it’s important to start training at the same time. I am delighted that the move has been completed. There is nothing new for me here because I literally know everyone at this club. what is crucial now is to focus as we prepare for the new season and also understand the system and style of play,” Kampamba told Zescounitedfc.co.zm

Zega Mambo missed out on Continental football for the first time in nine years and now George Lwandamina and his troops are keen to rebuild and return to their glory days.
