Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) Copperbelt Women’s Provincial League outfit Konkola Blades’ start to the season was given a huge boost after the team was presented with a new kit from their sponsors Konkola Copper Mine (KCM).
Speaking on behalf of the team after the handing over of the kit, captain Bupe Chulu was elated with this kind gesture and thanked the management for the support rendered to the team and called upon her teammates to continue working hard.
“All is well with the team as we were given the time and opportunity to meet our manager who encouraged us to keep up the good work in the new league and on behalf of the team as a captain, i would like to say thank you to the management for the new kit and the word of encouragement too and we promise to do our best. The sky is not the limit. Big up to you all at Konkola Blades,” Chulu told the ZamFoot Crew.
Konkola Blades Queens who are known as Sharp Lazer Queens started their league campaign with a hard fought 1-nil victory over Kalulushi Modern Stars Queens with Sibongile Moyo scoring the only goal of the match.
Konkola’s next assignment is away to new girls in the league Maleh Queens who settled for a 2-2 draw against Tami Express in their opening fixture over the past weekend in Zone B.
