Kazakhstan based foursome to join Copper Queens camp on Monday 

Coach Bruce Mwape will next week have his complete Provisional squad as the Kazakhstan based foursome is set to join their teammates in Germany. 


BIIK Kazygurt Shymkent trio of midfielder  Irene ‘Xavi’ Lungu, defender Martha Tembo and striker Hellen Chanda together with Tomiris Turan goalkeeper Catherine Musonda will only join the Germany camp on Monday. 

The four players were in Lusaka two weeks ago for the send off match against Tanzania but only Martha Tembo was involved in the match. 

The four had to go back to their base to complete their club engagements before joining the European Camp. 

Musonda’s Tomiris Turan will tomorrow host  Aktobe at 14:00 hrs while the Kazygurt trio will be away to Okzhetpes at 15:00 hrs. 

The quartet will be available next weekend as the Copper Queens face Switzerland in their second International friendly match in Europe having missed the 3-2 loss to the Republic of Ireland yesterday.

The 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup will be held in Australia and New Zealand from 20 July to 20 August 2023.

The Copper Queens are in Group C at the Women’s World Cup and will commence their debut outing with a match against Japan on July 22 followed by Spain four days later and Costa Rica on July 31.
