Kapumbu out of Uganda match as Sunzu returns to training 

Midfielder Kelvin Kapumbu will miss the Chipolopolo Boys’ International friendly match against Uganda tomorrow in the United Arab Emirates.

Kapumbu suffered a strain of the hamstring muscle in Zambia’s 1-0 loss to Egypt on Thursday.

Zambia National Team Doctor, Wesley Ngongo has confirmed that the ZESCO United midfielder will sit out the match. 

Dr Ngongo has also revealed that defender Stophila Sunzu is back in training and is on schedule to be available for tomorrow’s game. 

Sunzu Sustained some blunt trauma to the head in the match against Egypt and was being monitored for a mild concussion. 

“So Stophila Sunzu resumed some light training which has gradually been increased and has tolerated it well and his symptoms have not recurred. Yes there is one more training session but based on that and what we have observed he is on schedule to be available for tomorrow,” he said.

“Kelvin Kapumbu on the other hand it’s a strain of the hamstring muscle so this one requires a little more time. He is on rest but we monitor him on a daily basis but currently he is on rest and will not be available for tomorrow’s match.”

The Chipolopolo Boys’ will square off with Uganda at 19 hrs local time and 17h00 Zambian time at the  Hamriya Stadium in sharjar.
