Power Dynamos won the bragging rights to Kitwe on Saturday with a comfortable 2-0 win over arch rivals Nkana to all but seal their 7th league title.
The euphoria from the biggest game in the land and Power Dynamos almost concluded the league title with three games to go have overshadowed everything else in the country.
However, action from the top tier league continued with two matches on Sunday.
Green Buffaloes quest for a first league title since 1982 was brought to an end by Kansanshi Dynamos as they suffered a 2-1 loss away in Kalumbila.
The Mabanga Boys took the lead through the man of the match, Marvin Jere but Buffaloes levelled matters through Fellon Sitonya from the penalty spot.
Nkana legend, Ronald ‘Sate-Sate’ Kampamba, the landlord produced the goods as he snatched a winner in the 75th minute to leave Kansanshi Dynamos a win away from securing their stay in the Super League.
Elsewhere, ZESCO United returned to winning ways with a comprehensive 3-0 win over Chambishi.
Goals from Nathan Sinkala, Enock Sakala Jnr and Lindo Mkhonta were enough to seal the win for the Nine time MTN Super League Champions.
The win keeps ZESCO United in the race for second place while Chambishi remain just a few lost points away from suffering relegation.
