Kangwa’s Red Star suffer home defeat to RB Leipzig

Serbian side Red Star Belgrade suffered a 2-1 defeat at home to RB Leipzig, their third defeat of the group stage. 

Kings Kangwa who impressed over the weekend in the league with an assist was an unused substitute on Tuesday. 

The German team has since reached the knockout stage of the Champions League.

Goals in either half from Xavi Simons and Loïs Openda ensured back-to-back victories for Leipzig over the Serbian champion, giving them nine points in Group G, three behind Manchester City. 

Defending champion City beat Young Boys 3-0 in the other group game to also advance.

Both Red Star and Young Boys have one point and can no longer finish among the top two and will battle for a third place finish.
