Red Arrows forward Albert Kangwanda was on Friday night named the 2025/26 MTN Super League Player of the Season after an outstanding campaign that saw him inspire Arrows to a second-place finish.
Kangwanda beat off competition from Moses Shumah and Mangani Banda to claim the league’s top individual honour at the awards gala held at Garden Court Hotel in Kitwe.
The prolific forward scored 13 league goals while also contributing numerous assists and creating key chances throughout the season, emerging as one of the division’s standout performers.
Despite Kangwanda taking the headline accolade, newly crowned champions Power Dynamos dominated the evening, collecting five awards.
Shumah enjoyed a memorable night after scooping both the Golden Boot and the Fans’ Player of the Season award following a remarkable 21-goal campaign.
Power Dynamos head coach Osward Mutapa successfully defended his Coach of the Season title after guiding the Kitwe giants to the league championship. Mutapa edged out Chisi Mbewe and Lameck Banda for the honour.
Midfielder Frederick Mulambia added another accolade for Power Dynamos after being named the Most Disciplined Player of the Season, while passionate supporter Kennedy Chishala, popularly known as “Yellow Man”, won Fan of the Season.
Elsewhere, Kabwe Warriors goalkeeper Mangani Banda was named Goalkeeper of the Season, while FC MUZA youngster Given Kalusa clinched the Young Player of the Season award ahead of Humphrey Bwembya and Joseph Mulenga.
Refereeing honours went to Charles Ng’andwe and Meck Zulu, who were named Referee and Assistant Referee of the Season respectively.
The Goal of the Season award was won by Jacob Kaunda for his strike against Power Dynamos.
In the media categories, Tracy Kunda Chansa won the Television Award, while Puncherello Chama, Bwezani Mbewe and Cecilia Nayame claimed the Radio, Digital and Print awards respectively.
Gwen Mulundu Chipasula was named Club Media Officer of the Season, while Limbikani Mtonga scooped the Club Photographer of the Season award.
