Sports Minister Chishimba Kambwli has asked the German government to help get a top Bundesliga coach to come and help in drilling Chipolopolo.
Honour Janza is head coach of the 2012 champions of Africa and has technical assistants who include Dutch coach Nico Labhom, Chintu Kampamba and goalkeeper trainer Davis Phiri.
Kambwili has been very vocal in calling for the beefing up of the Chipolopolo bench.
He had previously told FAZ to get Honor Janza help before FAZ moved to employ Labhom.
Good move though a professional coach should be employed full time .
This is the first time i can agree with this man…..
In as much as I believe honor Janza has what it takes to qualify the team to afcon I agree we need to engage a better coach I don’t see us being able to challenge for afcon with Janza. The likes of Cameroon, Senegal and Algeria would give us a sound beating with Janza in charge
Let us see if liverpool can defy their form and upset Real Madrid.
While I respect the minister’s decision, I was thinking it would be a better idea to invest in our local coaches. All we need is to give them support.
That’s it kambwili you are now working and we want your influence to help remove this so called Kalu at FAZ offices also so that we restart everything properly
This system of getting unqualified coaches should come to an end. They say local is laka but not Janza. AFCON 2015 under Janza,
Senegal 4-1 Zambia
Algeria 6- 0 Zambia
DR Congo 3-1 Zambia.
Under a good coach like Keshi,
Senegal 1-3 Zambia
Algeria 2-2 Zambia
DR Congo 1-2 Zambia.
Wait and see next year !!!!
Iwe Kambwili, have you not learnt anything from government interference???
Do we need our football to be thrown in more turmoil again???
Does the sports minister always need to be educated in football affairs???
Kambwili sit down, and think how you are going to pay the women’s team and do something useful with your position instead of medaling.
VIVA KAMBWILI!
Bwetu-bwetu ba lukasu nishani?
Kabwila has a point Viva
I am now aware through a third party that our football administrators and at FAZ and Government level do read this blog. so here is my opinion.
I think football coaching has moved way beyond what happens on the pitch. it is now about management and it has become very technical.
In as much as an expatriate coach can help us let us invest as much as possible in our own. When get someone in-charge, let us send Janza and some body else to Germany for training, after that let us send them again to Brazil. When they finish these courses we can then make them in charge of our National Team, as Manager and Coach.
This process was tried with Ben Bamfuchile and some one else , it started working, but we stopped it.
We need to select 6 top coaches in the Premiere League, and start sending them to Brazil and Germany for training, when they come back we will have a pool of coaches capable of handling the national team.
There are times when I even wonder what has happened to the Outward Bound Lake School in Mbala, ku Venture? and why we don’t use this place for training and strengthening our footballers and athletes? It is located in distant and serene place where they would be little interference from the public, but still very close to one of Zambia’s largest Airport. It has a football ball pitch, It has the necessary buildings and dormitories and if it doesn’t have the equipment, we can equip it with state of the art.
The temperature in Mbala, a plateau is cool to cold. The temperature at Mpulungu 32 kms down the valley is hot and humid, one pitch could also be maintained there for training needs. This place could be ideal and either Mpulungu or Mbala could be used depending on the conditions in the country and city where the chipolopolo would be playing. If it is in Lusaka or Copperbelt they can train within the city they will play from.
Its biggest asset especially for athletes and those needing physical stamina like Chisamba Lungu, it is location on the Great East African Rift Valley, with all the right terrain for jogging.
You know the minister is backwards if he just asks for German coach. As if you can go pick any German coach and he is then going to perform wonders. Madness!
