FAZ President Andrew Kamanga has again hinted that Croatian coach Aljosa Asanovic is the new Zambia coach.
The former Croatia coach is expected to be unveiled in Lusaka on Tuesday morning.
Writting in his weekly FAZ column, Kamanga revealed that they ‘settled for a coach they believed knows his way around our game and can relate to our current crop of players.’
Asanovic arrived in the country last year and was attached to the Beston Chambeshi lead bench as a Technical Director.
The successful businessman also revealed that the government through the Ministry of Sports have been kept updated on the hiring of the former Croatia international.

“We have also kept government informed at every stage of this process and have no doubt that the coach and national team will receive full support.
“We are confident that with the coach in place, we will have a smooth start to the qualifiers for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations. The draws will be conducted in Douala on Friday. With everything starting on a clean slate, it is our desire to give the team a good start.
Asanovic is expected to come with one or two assistants. His technical bench will also include a Zambian coach as well as a goalkeeping coach.
He is expected to be getting a monthly salary of $25, 000.
