Celebrated African football icon Kalusha Bwalya will join other legends from across the continent in an exhibition match to mark the opening of Diamniadio Olympic Stadium in Dakar on Tuesday.
Straight from winning their first ever African Cup of Nations in February, the country will open the 50, 000 capacity Stadium.
Diamniadio Stadium will be the Teranga Lions’ home ground and will host the 2026 Olympics.
This will be the first time an African Country will be hosting Olympics.
The Senegelese legends side will be consist of players from that Bruno Metsu coached side which reached the quarter finals at the 2002 World Cup as well as the AFCON Final.
Some of the stars invited are Diouf, Kalidou Fadiga, Henri Camara, Salif Diao, Omar Daf and ex-goalkeeper Tony Sylva.
Demba Ba and AFCON winning coach Aliou Cisse is also in the team.
The African legends will be a star studded with Nigeria trio Jay Jay Okocha, Daniel ‘The Bull’ Amokachi and Nkwankwo Kanu.
Samuel Kuffour, Asamoah Gyan, and Anthony Baffoe are the only Ghanaian on the list while DR Congo has Shabani Nonda.
Ivory Coast duo Emmanuel Eboue and Yaya Toure are joined by Emmanuel Adebayor of Togo.
Patrick Mboma, Geremi Njitap and Samuel Eto’o are also in Dakar for the exhibition match.
Others are Titi Camara and Pascal Feindouno (both Guinea), Lucas Radebe (South Africa), Wael Goma (Egypt) and Moustapha Hadji (Morocco).
