CAF Champions League-bound ZANACO Football club has confirmed the appointment of Kelvin Kaindu as new head coach replacing Chris Kaunda who officially part ways with the club on Friday.
Kaindu has penned a one-year deal with the Bankers who took to their official website to confirm the development.
“Zanaco Football Club is pleased to announce the appointment of Kelvin Kaindu as Zanaco’s head coach, returning for a third stint in charge at the club on a 1-year deal. He replaces Chris Kaunda who left the club on a mutual agreement.
Kaindu was officially unveiled as Zanaco coach at Zanaco FC Secretariat on Sunday morning.”
The former Zanaco FC captain was an assistant to Wedson Nyirenda between 2009-2011 and then Numba Mumamba’s assistant between 2019-2020.
Zanaco FC Acting General Manager Roy Mutombo told the club’s official website that the Board and management were very happy to engage Kaindu.
“Zanaco FC Board and Management are delighted to engage Coach Kaindu once again this time around as Head Coach of Sensational Zanaco FC,” said Mutombo.
Kaindu will travel with the team later today for a 10-Day Pre-Season Training Camp in Livingstone.
The former Zimbabwe-based gaffer is one of the most qualified coaches in Zambia holding high coaching badges including a UEFA B Diploma, the FA International Licence, and CAF A.
