Kafue Celtic duo of Jonathan Kalimina and Orton Phiri have left for Mali to attend a training camp with Malian side, Yeleen Olympique, the club has announced.
The duo left for Mali yesterday to prepare for a trip to Austria next month with the West Africa side.
The duo are expected to take part in next months’ prestigious Salzburg next generation tournament.
Last year Celtic trio of Vincent Mutondo, Noah Chikote and Litia Litia were part of the Yeleen team and had a successful Next-Generation Tournament outing in Austria.
Litia shined at the tournament winning the golden boot after scoring 4 goals including in the final against Independiante del valle of Ecuador to help Yaleen win the tournament.

After their training camp in Mali, Kalimina and Phiri will travel for the prestigious Red Bull Salzburg Next Generation Tournament. 🏆 Last year, three of our players, Vincent Mutondo, Noah Chikote, and Litia Litia, had the privilege to take part in the same program, which was a tremendous success,” Kafue Celtic posted on their official Facebook page.
This is in addition to their seven players who have remained in Georgia on the request of Locomotive Tbilisi.
Vincent Kalinda, Boniphanseo Phiri, Floyd Chileshe, Frank Chileshe, Agripa Mwila, Darton Bwalya and Twiza Mulenga are in still in Eastern Europe after Kafue Celtic’s European friendly match tour thanks to their MOU with Locomotive Tbilisi on the sidelines of the Euro U21 Championship.
