MTN Super League side Kabwe Warriors has appointed Albert Kachinga as the new head coach on a short term deal.

Prior to this appointment, Kachinga was with Ndola United as Technical Director.

Kabwe Warriors Football Club is pleased to announce the appointment of Coach Albert Kachinga as Head Coach.

Coach Kachinga joins the Magnificent People’s Team on a three months contract with an option to review based on performance. Mr Kachinga has been roped in to beef up the already existing Technical Bench following the departure of Coach Numba Mumamba and Noel Mwandila to ZANACO FC.

Mr. Kachinga has vast experience in Zambian Football, having worked at Nchanga Rangers, Red Arrows, Prison Leopards and most recently Trident. Coach Kachinga was the first Zambian Coach to qualify the Zambia U17 Women’s Team to FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup in Costa Rica. He later went on to take up the mantle of the Senior Zambia Women’s National Team between 2011 to 2018.

Kabwe Warriors Chairman Mr. Mutale Ng’andu says Mr. Kachinga has been tasked with the duty of winning the ABSA Cup and ensure that the teams gets back on track to qualify for Continental Football.

“Coach Albert Kachinga is not new to Kabwe Warriors. You may wish to know that he once played for Kabwe Warriors in the 1980s and coach Kachinga is not new to the Kabwe Community. He has coached Prison Leopards and made us enjoy the Local Derby, having transformed Prison Leopards into a formidable force” Mr. Ng’andu said.

“We have all the trust and belief that Coach Kachinga”s arrival at Kabwe Warriors will help us realise our dreams. Our dreams are that of winning the ABSA Cup in which we were runner-up last season and this season we aim to win the ABSA Cup and finish in the top 2 bracket.”

And Coach Albert Kachinga says it’s an honour to be roped in to be the New Head Coach of Kabwe Warriors.

“The team has been doing well and I think my coming in is to just try and help the team realize it’s goals. We will try as much as we can to push for the realization of the goals that the team set prior to the previous coaches departing,” said coach Kachinga.

“The previous three games the team hasn’t been attacking that much. I think that is the most important thing that we need to look at. We have to try and make sure that we enhance our attacking options so that we get the desired results that everybody needs.

“I believe that with the support from the Executive, the Players, the Supporters, the dreams will be realised.”
