Chipolopolo coach Honour Janza has said it does not matter to him whether it will be him who will remain coach for the national soccer team or not but his current pre-occupation is to come up with a future team for Zambia.
Janza has also explained that he has not departed from his ideology of working with young players stating that there were lessons learnt when Dario Bonneti was coach and he pulled the U23 players to the senior team at the expense of the Olympic qualifiers.
“When Lucky [Msiska] was here, the U23 failed to qualify for the Olympics because some players were pulled to the senior team. This time we have allowed the U23 players to train together, I could easily pick from there, but we know it is important for that team to qualify,” Janza said.
“We still have young players in the team like Paul Katema, Benson Sakala,” he added.
On the motivation behind the recalling of Felix Katongo who last played for Zambia at the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations, the Chipolopolo coach said the national team remains open to all players and he will always invite the senior players to guide the young ones.
Janza indicated that the calling of the TP Mazembe contingent of players should not be viewed as a sign of panic as he wants to take every opportunity to try out the players in different combinations as he is preparing the future team for Zambia regardless of who will be coach tomorrow.
“Whether I am here or not, I am preparing for the future of the nation,” he concluded.

Well said . The problem is that we receive half baked news . The media is doin little to improving zambian football . They summarize thing which need full explanation. Thanks for calling musonda mwape . Good luck
Selfmade is back on zamfoot.Chipo’s coach is right for your football standards to improve it starts from grassroots and employn a coach whose competent enough .Like us in Ghana we will alwaya remain a powerhouse in African football and everythn bco we focus on youth devepment and discover untapd tallent.Chipo’s
players arw somehow big headed for nothn..Go black stars Go……
and paradox will be right behind selfmade’s smelling backside with a gas mask on my head to make sure u behave yourself. cock and load
@selfmade.Stoped over heapn your black dogs i dont if they are kits.Ghana is just an average team which wins on luck.Nigeria is the only team which has represented Africa well.Zambia still has a lot to learn.King Kalu built the current so you need to find anothee coach who will pick it up even try that guy you call”Chicken”
Zambia is a footballn nation. As a proud Naija, super eagles is a power house in african football.Zambia just needs good youth academy to develop soccer
Even though I don’t like Janza as coach, I respect him, he is wise.
I would have loved to have more of Chintu & Davies Phiri in media as well. I watched Chintu training the girls, he is such a hardworking fellow, serious guy.
This guy is a time waster, which future???he won’t take us anywhere that’s a fact..
Well said but that Musonda lad and playboy season per team Felix is a big no,hell no to be precise, ba mudala naimwe, what future with those two players are you building?I am pretty sure even the next Coach will not consider the above mentioned players in a million years.
Who would not consider Felix? I think the lad is perhaps what we need. I remember him against Ivory coast in the final. the guy dribbled two or three Ivorian players down the flanks and then squared the ball to Chris who had the easiest of jobs. Unfortunately the keeper saved it. That man adds another dimension to the game. He can take the game to the other team intelligently. Go Felix!!!
Those are our Neymars and Suarez.
Stop wasteing tiMe with Janza he had his chance and he failed all in his useless philosophy this z too big for him you can walk in the Shoes of Renard!! Try the girls squad!
You can not walk in the shoes of Renard! Try under 20
Bonetti!!!!! Really!!!!! Bonetti pulled in those players because he had no choice of who else to pull in. It was not strategy it was because of sitting in a corner with no other option. Bonetti never watched the local league or for that matter even the foreign contingent he sang those BS songs to us about monitoring. As result the only players he could pull into the senior team to give face like he is introducing new talent were the U23’s. He did not pick new talent because he was clueless to the talent out there so he relied on the talent identified by other national team coaches.
Janza true leaders build a philosophy of their own. You will not hear great coaches like Mourinho talking about building on the philosophy of the previous coach he will tell you his plans and strategy. Even Moyes when he took over from a great coach, he brought in his own style and philosophy, yes it failed, but he did not go singing praise songs about the previous coach.
Janza you lack practical experience, as much as you can deny it and flash your FIFA qualifications nothing beats experience on the ground. Drop your ego a bit and get the likes of Lwandamina,Nyirenda, Phiri etc to assist you. They have ground experience that they can introduce to your theoretical knowledge.
I don’t agree with what you are saying here. Your words don’t show solid direction for the national team. No one can say for sure what your solid idea is unless you start to explain it. look at Mashaba at Bafana, without words everybody can still very clearly see the direction he is taking with the national team. That is not the case with you.
But the locals you have mentioned fail lamentably when it come to club competition in Africa, we just need to get a good foreign coach!
Good idea
The problem i have with this situation is that once janza goes…. so will his plans, philosophy & hard work. Am really struggling to understand why he is building for the future when we all know that the next coach that will come will discard all his work. I would rather we engaged a new coach as soon as possible because we will be wasting time with janza when we all know he won’t be around for long!
Jaza is more than100 percent right and he has shown a lot of maturity . He observed that the under 23 match is important than friendly. As for mwape musonda he deserve to be in this team. That was a wise move. Zambia has a lot of players in diaspora who are featuring for national because constitution and other factors .
I think big steve u have missed the point here …which is very unlike u
Enlighten me……… I may have looked at this differently.
Janza go to hell with yo future plan use players who can deliver.
GOOD IDEA BA JANZA…KIKIKIKIKI ATI GHANA A POWERHOUSE IN AFRICA..ULUSE
Like it or not Ghana is a true power house considering the fact we have been consistent in the top five best African ranked teams by FIFA ten years and beyond.
It doesn’t matter what you think, facts are sacred and cannot be distorted by any southern African ideology which claim superiority in African football but finds themselves languishing in the bottom of everything that has to do with football on the continent.
Early exits characterize all your continental and club participation yet you still find your loud mouths to shout for all to hear your “powerhouse” status cos of #Afcon2012#
What a pity
Ghana May not have won Afcon in the last thirty years but I don’t wanna be a South African prophet to proclaim worse for Zambian football.
Algeria reign
Ivory Coast reign
Ghana reign
Viva Africa
At least Ghanaian leftback player Baba Rahman is being fought for by EPL sides, nomba ifwe Ba Mbola awe sure-kekekekeke
Let’s wait and see as Janza has been given another chance!
