Chipolpolo coach Honor Janza has picked a squad of local players which will go into camp ahead of the Equatorial Guinea 2015 Africa Cup of nations which kicks off next month.
FAZ super league top scorer Jackson Mwanza has returned to the squad and Janza has also invited Green Buffaloes defender Dennis Banda as he looks to fix the shaky backline.
Banda had formed the central defensive partnership with Nwambe Mulenga prior to the 2012 Afcon tournament but fell out favour with Herve Renard.
The squad also includes seven U20 players while Zesco United’s Simon Silwimba has also made the cut after scoring a scorcher in the Barclays Cup final.
Goalkeepers: Danny Munyau, Satchmo Chakawa, Joshua Titima
Defenders: Nyambe Mulenga, Christopher Munthali, Alex Mwamba, Dennis Banda, Jimmy Chisenga, Rodrick Kabwe
Midfielders: Spencer Sautu, Shadreck Malambo, Kennedy Mudenda, Larry Bwalya, Changwe Kalale, Nsofwa Mwansa, Charles Zulu, Bruce Musakanya, Rodrick Kabwe, Kayawe Kapota and Simon Silwimba.
Strikers: Jackson Mwanza, Ronald Sate Sate Kapamba and Festus Mbewe
Simon Silwimba and Jackson finally called to the national team! What a long wait for us fans.
Festus Mbewe over Moses Phiri? Festus is a blind man!
Janza is a big Nkana fan!
Festus awe better moses phiri
Rodrick Kabwe is on both defenders and midfielders. Make correction
It will be very exciting if a minimum of 3 U20 players make it in the final squad to Equitarial Guinea. This can be valuable experience for the young lads. They dont necessarily have to play but sitting on the bench and watching the big boys go about their business can be very motivating.
I had a chat with one of the technical bench for Chipolopolo in Johannesburg I pointed out area we need to beef up. Our defense is shaking.let’s hope we are going to have a strong partnership like of that of 2012 afcon, Sunzu HH,Davis Nkausu Joseph Musonda.
I know this is just a provisional squad but there goes Janza again,Festus over Mose. You have started the marketing thing of yours with Kalu.
I know this is just a provisional squad but there goes Janza again,Festus over Mose. You have started the marketing thing of yours with Kalu. You guys should learn to put national pride as a prior.
Donashano dropped so soon?
Denis Banda! yes! there I give you a thumb Janza. if we can have Sunzu, Nyambe, Denis and Nkausu, in Defence, no team will be able to penetrate easily. its just that Nkana and Janza seemed inseparable no matter how slow Muntali may be. please Janza pick Denis banda for victory sake
Mr Janza, on that Zulu boy, even I who hasn’t got any training as a coach c an easily tell, you are rushing the boy. from the chances you have given him, any good coach can easily grade him. is he the only talent your eyes can manage to identify in the Zambian super league with close to three hundred player’s.
festus is what we call a defensive striker. the guy cant score or trouble defenders.
good news janza
Festus ena lipulanga mwe such that assessing him is even a waste of time. Satchmo chakawa my boy am proud of you for having a looking in with the nat’l team coz even at school wali bad, u showed great potential. Go go boy
Mr. Janza! Alex Ngonga, Francis Kombe and Shadreck Musonda from Power, Arrows and Nkana respectively are worth looking at than ba Festus (we appreciate the height but…?)
However, I like your consideration of Denis Banda, Simon Silwimba, Kapota Kayawe and Kennedy Mudenda-these are very agressive and focused players who can deliver on any given day.
For foreign based players please consider the following;
Kennedy Mweene
Cliford Mulenga
Collins Mbesuma
Mukuka Mulenga
Davies Nkausu
Stopila
Lubambo Musonda
Chisamba
Nathan sinkala
Rainford Kalaba
Given Singuluma
E. Mayuka
Kabaso Chongo
In the final team, i would like to see the following team comprising of only hardworking players to my standard.
Goal Keepers; Mweene, Munyau and Chakawa
Defenders: E. Mbola, Kabaso Choongo, Davies Nkausu, Denis Banda, Nyambe Mulenga , Kapota Kayawe and Stopila Sunzu
Midfielders; Nathan Sinkala, Chisamba Lungu, Lubambo Musonda, Mukuka Mulenga, Simon Silwimba, Rainford Kalaba and Kennedy Mudenda
Strikers; E. Mayuka, G. Singuluma, Collins Mbesuma, Ronald Kampamba, (Alex Ngonga or Jackson Mwanza pliz debate who u can pick)
But zoonah!!!ba Janza! why festus na Mutali?what quality does this players have?they will do nothing at AFCON.chilishani ba Janza?
Moses Phiri deserve a chance, he’s got pace and can take on players, he’s similar to Tokelo Rantie of RSA.
Let this local based players team play the foreign based players team in Lusaka and on the Copperbelt.
SO that we judge bwino bwino.
Janza
maybe Charles zulu is using juju if at all there is juju in football, i can’t see why he has been having a place in the team.
I should think Janza receives some bribe from players like munthali and festus, honestly speaking how better are the two players as compired to Power dynamos’ defender Billy Mutale and Zanaco’s Moses phiri to deserve a place at the national team? Janza must be serious with national issues
Justin Zulu ati shani ba Janza?? You pick Silwimba over Zulu? & Charles Zulu over Augustin Mulenga? Festus Mbewe sure? Awe ba Janza naimwe
Ati defensive striker awe sure, jaza also be serious with your job ,drop Festus please.
I wonder why Clifford is always on people’s lips. How and why should we consider him if i may ask. what warrants him a place in the Squad. please enlighten me. As a Nkana fan i would also agree that Moses and Alex Ngonga are way ahead of Festus because of what they bring to the table.
guys this is not final pick
