Former Chipolopolo coach Honor Janza, yesterday took charge of his first training session after his appointment on Monday as acting coach of the Tanzanian National Team.
Janza took the Taifa Stars players through their paces as they continued to prepare for the second leg against Uganda in the 2023 CHAN Qualifiers.
Janza, who was technical director when Zambia won her first and only AFCON title believes the Taifa Stars can win in Uganda when the two teams meet on September 3, 2022, in Kampala.
“It’s a 50/50 affair, football is now dynamic, The same way Uganda won here it is possible Tanzania can win that side. For me I like winning because I have tested winning and know what it can do so we do our best in Uganda but winning will be good for us,” he said.
The Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) appointed former Chipolopolo coach Honor Janza as interim head coach on Monday following the termination of Kim Poulsen’s contract.
Poulsen’s contract was terminated following the Taifa Stars’ 1-nil defeat to Uganda in the 2023 CHAN qualifiers.
Janza who also doubles up as Namungo head coach is the last coach to have qualified the Chipolopolo to the Africa Cup of Nations back in 2015.
Janza holds a Uefa ‘B’ coaching license, a Confederation of African Football (CAF) ‘A’ license and is an elite coach’s instructor for the continent’s governing body.
