Primeiro De Agosto Head Coach Dragan Jovic has declared his team ready for the CAF Champions League first leg of their Pre-group stage match against Green Eagles this afternoon slated for Lusaka’s National Heroes Stadium.
Speaking in Interview with the ZamFoot Crew, Jovic thanked Eagles for a great hospitality but getting to the field of play his main aim is to reach the group stages of the competition but he expects a tough game playing against a team which booted out one of Africa’s Top favorites, Orlando Pirates but he is confident of a positive result when the two teams meet.
“first of all, I would like to say thank you for the great hospitality. We came here to play a good match, our aim is to reach the group stage but it will be very difficult because we are playing against a very good team because they knocked out Orlando Pirates in the two legs but we are confident and prepared for the match, ” he said.
He further added that they will not depend on their style of play of holding on to possession but will fight to score which is very important when playing away from home and they will try at all cost to avoid defeat.
“We will try to play our game which is a possessional ball but not because Green Eagles is a very good team. When you play away it’s very important to score and we will try to do that, any result apart from defeat is good for us.”
Meanwhile, Agosto Captain is Massunguna Alex Afonso is optimistic that his team will pick up a positive result and they have done their homework by watching Eagle’s previous match against Pirates which gave them knowledge about how they play.
“We feel well amongst the group we had an opportunity to see how they played against Orlando Pirates, we know we have knowledge that we have the ability physical game but we are optimistic of getting a good result here in Lusaka,” said Afonso.
He went on to say Eagles have a strong team and they are wary of the dangers they can pose and he has called on his teammates to be aware in the whole match.
“They have very strong players. It’s a team that’s very strong I don’t see any player who’s going to be Outstanding from them but we must be aware in the whole 90 Minutes in order not to be surprised during the game.”
Green Eagles and Primeiro De Agosto will lock horns in the first leg Pre-group stage match this afternoon at Lusaka’s Heroes Stadium and kick-off is at 15:00hrs with entry fees pegged at K15 for South, North and East Wings While West Wing And VIP are K50 and K70 respectively.
