Green Eagles head coach Aggrey Chiyangi believes his team is still in with a chance to qualify to the CAF Confederation Cup playoff round and he is not throwing in the towel just yet.
Chiyangi is however alive to the fact that it will be a huge mountain to climb for his team having lost in the first leg at home.
“We just have to go back to the basics to remind them so that they can concentrate. In football there are little things if you don’t take them seriously that’s where you make mistakes and concede goals,” Chiyangi told the ZamFoot Crew.
“Cotton Sport, We have to go back and work on it, we know it’s a huge mountain to climb but in Football anything is possible.”
On Saturday, His team came from two goals down to force a draw against Indeni away at the Indeni Sports Complex, the cage.
Chiyangi feels he has a lot of work to do throughout his team. The former Zanaco boss believes his team is not scoring enough and are conceding ‘silly’ goals.
“I think we have a lot of work to do with the defense because we are conceding goals we are not supposed to concede those goals. The first goal, the corner they were people who were supposed to attack the ball but they did not,” he said.
” Yes the concern is there but we are not losing hope. Football is a phase, no team does not go through a bad patch, yes we are going through a bad patch but we have to fight and come out quickly.”
“The whole team, we have not scored in the last few games but conceded which means we have a weakness upfront and a problem at the back, so we have to work on the whole team,” he added.
In the First leg, The Cameroonian side took the lead just two minutes into the second half thanks to a Felix Oukine Tcheoude strike before Tchuente Tchuente could double the lead from the spot in the 64th minute.
2-0 the match finished, Eagles will now have an uphill battle of going to beat Cotton Sport by 3 unanswered goals away at the 22 000 capacity Stade Omnisport de Garoua.
