Lineker Mbesuma says it is a dream come true for him to represent Zambia following his call up to the Zambia U17 National Team.
The Jomo Cosmos forward says he is eager to play for the Junior Chipolopolo at next month’s Africa Cup of Nations.
Lineker who is 2012 AFCON winner Collins Mbesuma’s son says he wants to win the continental showpiece with the team and qualify for the World Cup.
“It feels great, it has always been my dream to play for my country and it is really an honour to play for my country. I can’t wait to play at the Africa Cup of Nations,” he said.
“It is a bit tough, there is a lot of competition here. My ambition is to win the AFCON and go to the World.”
“It will be a tough group but we just have to work hard and do our best when we go to AFCON,” he added.
Zambia were drawn in Group B alongside Nigeria, Morocco and neighbours South Africa.
The U17 AFCON will run from April 29 to May 19 and the four semi-finalists of the tournament will qualify for the FIFA World Cup to be played later this year.
Its a pity that most soccer fans will from the onset compare you with your dad or those of us who saw him in action, your grand dad.
This is a tall order for you, almost like atlas carrying the entire world on his shoulders..
My advise is use them as a yard stick, but play and develop your own game.

He is Collins Mbesuma’s first born son. Mbesuma was part of the team that won the 2012 Afcon.
