Indeni Roses defender Zamiwe Mukokomena is elated with the upcoming 2020/21 FAZ Women’s Super League and she’s optimistic it will help her develop her football career.
Speaking in an interview with the ZamFoot Crew from Ndola, Mukokomena vowed to do her level best, especially that the league will now be more competitive and it will be watched by a lot of people some of whom haven’t watched her before and that will give her the challenge to work hard.
“I feel excited that the games are now starting after a long time of not playing. It will be interesting playing week in and week out, we will be putting in our level best because the league will be tough,” Mukokomena said.
“This upcoming league will be watched by many people who haven’t seen me play before and that gives me a challenge of working hard on my own and impress them, and when that happens I will improve and probably go to another level in terms of my football career,” she added
The Hard-Tackling defender has won 2 back-back league titles (FAZ Copperbelt Province Women’s Champions) with Indeni in 2018 and 2019. She joined the Roses in 2017 after being spotted at Choma Warriors Academy, Team Chopicho who are playing in the FAZ Women’s League Choma District of Southern Province.
Mukokomena is nicknamed Cox which simply means Humble because of her quietness, however, she is a no-nonsense player who a lot of people should look out for in the upcoming season slated for next month.
The Rose’s first match will be a long trip to Lusaka as they visit Bauleni United Sports Academy (BUSA) Queens in their Match Week 1 encounter of the first-ever Zambian Women’s Super League
