Red hot Arrows Women Football Club goal poacher Grace Chanda is elated by her performance so far in the league as she’s on record of being the first player to record double figures of goals in the history of the Women national league.
Chanda has scored in three consecutive matches in the women’s league for the Air Ladies who are now commanding the table of the 2020/21 FAZ Women Super League with 14 points after a remarkable 2-nil win over giants Green Buffaloes Women Football Club at the Green Square Ground in Arakan.
Chanda who is fondly addressed as Dangote by her teammates scored similar and beautiful goals in either half to make sure the Zambia Airforce Sponsored side break the jinx of failing to beat Buffaloes after so many failed attempts in the Defense Force Derby.
Speaking in an interview with the ZamFoot Crew after the match, Chanda said she is happy to be back to scoring ways and most importantly helping her team to collect maximum points over Buffaloes.
“Today’s game was tough, Buffaloes thought they already won the game before it was even played, they talked a lot and underrated us thinking it will be easy for them but we prepared adequately and we showed how much business we mean this season because we are not playing based on history we are a new side that is hungry for success.”
Chanda who is currently in camp with the senior women’s national team and has been on song for Arrows in the recent games and she’s the current top goal scorer in the league with 14 goals and she’s expected to lead the Copper Queens at the rescheduled 2020 Tokyo Olympics to be hosted by Japan from July 23 to August 8, 2021, where they are in Group F alongside Brazil, China, and Netherlands.
Chanda is not new to being a prolific striker as she topped the goals scorers chart for the 2020 Africa Women qualification tournament with eight goals and scored 86 goals in 26 games for ZESCO Ndola Girls in 2018.
