Zambia national team forward Gamphani Jones Lungu says he will let the football do the talking following an impressive start to the new South Africa Premier Soccer League.
The former Power Dynamos forward scored and set up two goals as Supersport United edged Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila in the MTN 8 quarter finals.
Lungu who can play as a second striker, right back and on the wing. On Saturday in the game against TTM he made the two assists and scored the goal from the wing. Lungu says he is okay with playing any position even if its not his favorite position.
“You know i don’t say much and always want my football to talk for itself. Like i always say when a chance comes for me to play I’ll play anywhere even if it’s not my favorite position,” he said.
This season i just plan to start where i left off and do better.
Supersport United were 1-0 up eight minutes into the match on Saturday, Gamphani Lungu with a brilliant run down the wing squaring the ball back for an onrushing Grobler to open his account for the season and put United in the lead. 20 minutes later Gampy was again at it with a brilliant switch to Rayners who made no mistake with a curler to make up for his earlier mistake that saw him fluff his line after Lungu and Gabuza combined to put him on for an easy tap in.
Five minutes later Lungu finally got on the score sheet as he did well to beat a defender before unleashing a beautiful low drive to make it 3-0 inside 33 minutes.
The defending champions will now lock horns with Bloemfontein Celtic in the semifinals. Celtic defeated Mamelodi Sundowns in the quarter finals.
The dates and venues will be announced by the Premier Socce League in due course.
