I have a Zambian tattoo in my heart, says Renard

Former Chipolopolo coach Herve Renard has said he is sad when Zambia doesn’t qualify for the African Cup of Nations.

Since the Frenchman left his post as Chipolopolo coach in 2014, Zambia has only failed to qualify three times from the last four editions of the Africa’s biggest showpiece.

“I am not a politician but I am sad when I don’t see Zambia at the Africa Cup,” the Frenchman said on the upcoming interview with Studio Ken.

“I have a Zambian tattoo in my heart.

The 53 year old coach led Zambia to the CAF 2012 African Cup of Nations. A feat he repented with Ivory Coast 2 years later.

He also led the Copper Bullets to third place at inaugural CHAN Tournament in 2009 as well as the 2013 Cosafa Cup triumph.

In between his second spell as Chipolopolo coach and the Ivory Coast job, he had unsuccessful spells with French side Sochaux.

In Africa, Renard also coached Angola and Morocco whom he qualified to the Russia 2018 African Cup of Nations

Renard is currently in-charge of Saudi Arabia
