I am worried but things will change – Chipepo

By Precious Bwale

Nkana FC suffered a 1–0 defeat to Mufulira Wanderers in their Week 9 MTN Super League encounter at Nkana Stadium.

A first half goal from William Kamwanga, scored from a well taken set piece, was the difference between the two sides in Kitwe.

Speaking after the match, Nkana head coach Mwenya Chipepo expressed concern over his team’s poor run of form, admitting that being second from the bottom on the log is worrying.

“I am worried. We are not supposed to be where we are, but things will change soon,” said Chipepo.

Chipepo, however, seems confident in his players despite heavy criticism from fans over his decision to sign several experienced, and older players.

“Which players do they want us to use? Who can play in Evans Kangwa’s position? These are the players available, and we can’t go and steal players from other clubs right now,” he said.

Meanwhile, Mufulira Wanderers assistant coach said they went to Kitwe with only one target victory and nothing else.

He further promised Mighty Mufulira Wanderers fans a first home win in their next fixture.

Nkana have endured a tough start to the season, going nine games without a win, losing five and drawing four.

Following the result, Nkana sit 17th on the table with 4 points, while Mufulira Wanderers move up to 5th position with 15 points.
