Copper Queens forward Helen Mubanga will miss the remainder of the 2021-22 Spanish Reto Iberdrola season following successful knee surgery.
Mubanga underwent a successful operation on her right knee on Wednesday. The club took to their Twitter account to confirm the sad development.
The surgery follows Mubanga suffering a torn meniscus in the right knee.
Meanwhile, compatriot Rachael Nachula suffered a distal ulna fracture of her right wrist in the Spanish side’s 1-0 win over C.D Parquesol Femenino in the Reto Iberdrola following a bad fall.
Nachula is however expected to return before the end of the season having undergone surgery a week ago.
