Midfielder Aymen Hazri scored an injury time spot kick to earn CS Sfaxien a 1-0 victory over Zanaco in a CAF Confederations Cup Group A match on Sunday night.
And Egyptian side Pyramid beat Al Ahli Tripoli of Libya 2-1 to go top of Group A.
Zanaco coach Kelvin Kaindu went with a 4-5-1 formation and played a low a block for much of the match.
The Bankers worked hard to avoid conceding from the onset with the strategy to get a point away clear from the word go.
The bankers offered little in form of attack but did well to thwart most Sfaxien attacks with M’hango putting up a very good shift in defense.
With the game seemingly headed for a draw, Sfaxien were awarded a penalty in the last minute if additional time after Peter Kalota handled the ball inside the box.
Aymen Harzi stepped up and made no mistake sending Lameck Siame the wrong way.
Next up for the Bankers is Egyptian side, FC Pyramids on Sunday at Nkoloma Stadium.
