Zambia Women’s coach Nora Häuptle has backed goalkeeper Ngambo Musole following her performance in the CAF 2024 Women’s African Cup of Nations opener against Morocco on Friday.
The Swiss coach also revealed that first choice goalkeeper Catherine Musonda Sat out the match due to an unspecified medical reason.
“Our first-choice keeper Catherine (Musonda) was ruled out medically, which was a big blow,” Häuptle said
Musonda’s replacement Musole accounted for herself well despite conceding a late goal in the 2-2 draw in Rabat.
“Ngambo came in and played with authority, her communication, decision-making, and composure were impressive,” the former Ghana’s Black Queens added.
“In our team, we believe in team cohesion and unity, that’s one of our strongest values.
