“We as Shamuel Soccer Academy are proud to announce that our very own David Hamansenya has officially signed with CD Leganés in Spain!

David’s journey from our academy to the European stage is a true testament to his hard work, talent, and relentless passion for the game. We’ve seen him rise and represent our country from U15, U17 and was recently part of the U20 National team.

As he takes this major step in his football career, we couldn’t be more proud of what he’s accomplished and what lies ahead. A little boy from the streets of Mutendere ready to conquer the world.”

The young defender expressed excitement with the development saying it was a dream come true.

“I’m very happy and this is a dream come true for me. I have waited for this moment and I’m really excited to finally sign my professional contract. I want to thank Evans Kangwa, owner of Shamuel Academy and my Agent Nir Karin who have both helped and guided me through this journey and I will forever be grateful to them. And the entire Shamuel family thank you for everything you’re forever in my heart,” he said.

The Shamuel Soccer Academy product was part of the Zambia Under-20 Men’s National Team at the Egypt 2025 AFCON.
