In a colorful ceremony held at the Club Secretariat in Choma, Green Eagles Football Club officially unveiled Perry Mutapa as the new Head Coach.
The event was attended by senior club officials, members of the Executive Committee, and media personnel, marking the beginning of a new chapter for the club.
A New Chapter
Club Chairman, Colonel Walaza Sakala, described the occasion as a “long-awaited and deeply satisfying moment” as he announced that Coach Mutapa had signed a two-year contract with the club.
Chairman Sakala expressed full confidence in Mutapa’s ability to lead the team back to its winning ways.
Mutapa’s Promise
Perry Mutapa, a decorated tactician known for his success with clubs such as NAPSA Stars, Power Dynamos, and Forest Rangers, promised to give his all for the badge.
“I am truly honored to be entrusted with this role. Green Eagles is a club with a proud history, and I am here to work, not to speak too much. We will build a team that plays with purpose, discipline, and pride,” Mutapa said.
Rebuilding the Team
With his appointment, Green Eagles are looking to rebuild and reposition themselves as strong contenders in the Zambian Premier League.
Fans across the Southern Province and beyond will be hoping Coach Mutapa’s era marks the resurgence of the Eagles’ dominance on the pitch.
Mutapa arrives at Green Eagles with an impressive track record and a wealth of experience in Zambian and regional football.
He is best known for leading NAPSA Stars to victory in the 2022 ABSA Cup, a campaign in which he was voted Coach of the Tournament.
His coaching résumé includes successful stints with top-tier Super League sides such as Forest Rangers, Power Dynamos, and Lusaka Dynamos.
