Zambian champions, Green Buffaloes have qualified to the 2022 TotalEnergies CAF Women’s Champions League to be held in Morocco later this year.
This follows Botswana outfit Double Action’s failure to oust Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies from the top of group A.
Double Action needed to win by a 8-0 margin to qualify to the final but could only beat Mozambican side, Costa do Sol 2-0 meaning Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies qualify to the final of the ongoing COSAFA Women’s Champions League Zonal qualifier.
With Sundowns Ladies qualifying to Saturday’s final, Green Buffaloes Women’s Football Club qualify to Morocco alongside Sundowns who already qualified as defending Champions of Africa.
Buffaloes and Sundowns will now meet in the final of the 2022 Hollywoodbets COSAFA Women’s Champions League on Saturday.
Buffaloes finished top of Group B with 6 points and a +8 goal difference while Sundowns have won Group A with four points from two games, thanks to their superior goal difference over Double Action Ladies of Botswana.
The final will be played on Saturday, 13 August at 15h30 at the Sugar Ray Xulu Stadium in Durban, South Africa.
