Green Buffaloes Women’s Football Club have acquired the services of Copper Queens duo of Comfort  Selemani and Xiomara Mapepa together with Malawian defender Chimwemwe Madise on a short loan deal.

The deal for the trio is worth K30,000 according to the parent club, Elite Ladies.

The trio will help Green Buffaloes in the CAF Women’s Champions| COSAFA Qualifiers which will kick off later this month.

Buffaloes are in group A alongside Botswana side Double Action Ladies, Malawian side Ntopwa FC and Lesotho Defense Force.

“The Elite Ladies FC wishes to announce today that we have agreed to loan our striker Mapepa Xiomara, our attacking midfielder Comfort Selemani and our Malawian defending midfielder Chimwemwe Madise on a short term deal worth K30,000.

In a spirit of patriotism, The Elite Ladies offered the players to help Green Buffaloes, as our Zambian representative to perform better in regional and continental games starting with the COSAFA Women’s Champions League to be hosted in Durban from 30th August 2023 to 8th September 2023 and the CAF Champions League to be hosted in Ivory Coast later in the year.

The deal allows Green Buffaloes to pursue the players full time next season but they will remain as Elite Ladies FC players for the 2023/2024 FAZ Women’s Super League, unless appropriate offers are received from Europe, Asia or America.”

Comfort Selemani and Xiomara Mapepa were part of the Copper Queens contingent that went to the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup in New Zealand.

Meanwhile Chimwemwe Madise has been part of the Malawi Women’s National Team aka Scorchers that has participated at the COSAFA Women’s Championships every year since 2019 where she played as  defender.
