Green Buffaloes WFC edge Tura Magic to set up a semifinal clash with Mamelodi Sundowns

Zambia’s representatives at the ongoing Inaugural 2021 Total Energies CAF Women’s Champions League l COSAFA Qualifiers Green Buffaloes have stormed the semi-finals after a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Tura Magic from Namibia in a match played at the King Zelwathini Stadium in Durban, South Africa.

Buffaloes scored the only goal of the match in the 88th minute through super-substitute Anita Mulenga finishing off an excellent assist from Theresa Chewe after a slick interchange of passes between Shelly Masumo and Memory Nthala.

Buffaloes Midfielder Judith Zeide Zulu was named woman of the match after an excellent shift throughout the match.

Buffaloes have qualified as second best in Group B behind Black Rhinos and will now face one of the tournament’s favorite Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies on Thursday at 14:00hrs in the second match of the semi-final at the same venue.

Black Rhinos of Zimbabwe will lock horns with Double Action from Botswana in the first semi-final match at 11:00hrs.

The winner of the COSAFA will go on to represent the region in the inaugural 2021 Total Energies CAF Women’s Champions League in Egypt later this year.

  1. in as much as we would like to win sundown is the strongest team in this competition, they have managed to score 6 goals in all the 3 games they have played and conciding only 1 goal but in football nothing is impossible wishing you all the best,
