Green Buffaloes Women’s Football Club thumped Women’s National Division One Champions, Choma Warriors 10-0 to win the first ever Carling Black Label Samuel ‘Zoom’ Ndhlovu Charity Shield for Women.
It was always going to be an uphill battle for the Choma based outfit coming up against the Champions of the Women’s Super League.
Buffaloes just needed 3 minutes to open the scoring, Malawian forward Vanessa Chikupila with the goal after using her pace to beat the Warriors defence before powering a shot past Miriam Sikaduli.
Maweta Chilenga doubled the lead four minutes later with a fine solo goal, dancing through the Choma Warriors defence before slotting home past Sikaduli.
The third goal however took 12 minutes to come, Vanessa Chikupila with her second of the match from close range.
Maylan Mulenga then took over then netting two quick goals before halftime to make the scoreline 5-0 heading into the break.
In the second half, Buffaloes picked up from where they left off.





Six minutes into the second stanza, Substitute and new signing Thanda Mokgabo made it 6-0 with an easy tap-in from a Chikupila assist.
Sikaduli came up big a minute after the hour mark saving a penalty taken by Evarine Susan Katongo but three minutes later Ms hat-trick, Maylan Mulenga completed her hat-trick with a powerful from a difficult angle to make it 7-0.
Memory Nthala then got in on the action three minutes later with a powerful shot from the edge of the box.
Vanessa Chikupila then completed her hat-trick before Natasha Nanyangwe came off the bench to seal the win with a powerful shot from inside the box.
10-0 was the final result with Vanessa Chikupila walking away with K26,000 as the player of the match. Green Buffaloes will pocket K100,000 while Choma Warriors will get K75,000.
