Club football all over the world returned over the weekend following the end of the October FIFA window or international break as many call it.

In DR Congo, Defenders Kabaso Chongo and Tandi Mwape put in a full shift as TP Mazembe played to a goalless draw with AS Vita. Rainford was an unused substitute.

In South Africa, It was a man of the match performance for striker Gamphani Lungu who set up two goals and scored one as Supersport United edged newcomers Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila F.C (TTM).

Former Nkwazi Justin Shonga assisted the second goal with a well-taken corner kick.

Former Zesco United striker Lazarus Kambole played the first 45 minutes in Kaizer Chiefs who edged Maritzburg United 2-1 in the quarter-final of the MTN 8.

Goalkeeper Kennedy Mweene was an unused substitute for Mamelodi Sundowns who suffered a shock defeat to Bloemfontein Celtic in the MTN 8 at the Lucas Masterpieces Moripe Stadium in Pretoria.

In Austria, Midfielder Enock Mwepu scored a goal as Redbull beat ST. Pölten 3-0 in the second round of the UNIQA ÖFB Cup.

  1. Lots of great play by Chipolopolo boys around the world! The assist in Sweden by Chilufya was brilliant, creating the 3rd goal for his team in less than ten minutes after trailing 2-0. Amazing comeback! One other goal by a Zambian over the past weekend worth adding to this list was an important one in China by Sunzu, who is actually tied for leading scorer on his side with four goals this season. His goal helped his team win the first game in a two-leg tie for final rankings. I am excited to watch Daka and Mwepu in the Champions League tomorrow, and looking forward to Zambia taking on Botswana in early November.
