Ghana boot Zambia out of AYC

The Zambia U20 national team gave away a 1 – 0 lead to lose 2 – 1 to Ghana to bow out of the Africa Youth Championship being played in Senegal.

Despite dominating play and creating a myriad of chances, Zambia failed to convert and were punished by the Ghanaian Sattelites who have progressed to the semi finals.

Dave Daka opened the scores in the 2nd minute but Ghana replied with a curled shot tucked into the angle and beyong Mangani Banda in the Zambian goal. The referee had let the game play on despite the ball being in motion when the free kick leading to the goal was taken.

Later a Kayawe Kapota thunderbolt was spilled in the path of Patrick Ngoma who made no mistake but the referee judged Ngoma to be offside when he was being played on by a Ghanaian defender.

Zambia had even better chances in the second half with Charles Zulu twice sending in good crosses which Dave Daka failed to finish.

Daka was again a culprit when he was played free by substitute Patson Daka but his shot in the area was saved for a corner.

Ghana then booked their ticket to the World Cup in the 85th minute when a rare attack saw their stirker put the ball beyond the outstretched hand on Banda for the Satellites to win 2 – 1.

Zambia XI:

1.Mangani Banda. 3 . Peter Mulenga. 4.Boyd Mkandawire. 13. Kayawe Kapota. 15.Alex Mwamba. 12. Benson Sakala. 18. Spencer Sautu. 9.Charles Zulu. 11.Larry Bwalya (Langson Mbewe) 7.Patrick Ngoma (Patson Daka) 20.Davy Daka.

  1. Zambia tried their best let’s keep trying and sending our youth teams I know it’s frustrating but some day we wi get it right

    • Qualified by default . That is a cheap qualification & not when Ghana bulldozes over your ancient players . Modern soccer is lacking in Zambia

  2. Bias reportage from Zamfoot. After watching this game I say thumbs up to these young Ghanaiand for defeating the overaged Zambians. Let the statistics speak for themselves. Ball possesion, shots on target etc. Ghana was better than the zambian old men

  3. It is de painful loss of year for me guys am even felling to eat nshima let me just sleep back 4 work 2moro.The referee killed us bcoz we outplayed ghana an our goe being crealy disalloweda, these west africans are just fullish sorry to say so.Come 2017 here in zambia u will seem

    • Typical! They are always throwing challenges they are not prepared for. Don’t forget u won 2012 afcon because no one expected u to and since then. U have not won a match. It is easy to climb up but it takes quality and consistence to remain there

  4. Perfect….just perfect…just like I pictured it…..”Ghana boots Zambia out of U20AYC”…exactly that….kudos to u Zamfoot

  5. One big question I have for you guys is that what do you stand to gain by calling west African countries useless, foolish.

Have you forgotten that west africa is a region and not a country. West africa is made up of many countries, why not try and respect these countries small.

  6. Badosqi it’s cos they are all uncultured except some chosen few….no training whatsoever…i’m personally of the view that no grown up person is in some of their houses…not even a grownups picture to instill some discipline

  7. badosqi, that is what chibuku is capable of doing to their senses..after ranting and ranting, they are going home to eat nshima..

  8. Had Zambia qualified for the u17/u20 world cup, lives of the likes of patson ”patrick kluivert”daka and company would have never been the same.

  9. Hence their failure…in all competitions that involves a round ball…pride and fall levels for them till they begin to learn

  10. this people wanted to go to wc by hook or crook so they had to field ancestors.despite of raping the ghanaians on the pitch, patrick ngoma (grandpa) and his men(dadies) are at long last going back to eat nshima with leaves..now to cover their shame, they have to blame the referee but why didnt they win their first game if they are good? this is the table now.
    ghana
    mali
    south africa
    zambia

my observation is that this zambian team has no future because they are already oldmen

  11. allways thy try to find excuses for their failure .did we complain or insulted caf when u guys were given 3 point during the world cup qualificaion this shows how amature u guys are .wy didnt u guys insulted caf and wy those times when u guys were gifted with 3 point .wy didnt u say caf was a west african affair.u see how dull minded people u guys are

    • Uhm yes you complained when Zambia were given 3 pts and you still complain about it as you can see from your comment. We lost a game, okay then let’s move on and let us do our analysis. But it seems you guys are hell bent on turning our website into a place where we Zambians are not free to express ourselves.

    • And why do you think that would be the case. The reason that would happen is because for the past 2 weeks we Zambians have not been able to say anything good about our team without being attacked or insulted and for what? For supporting our team, for having an opinion that differs from yours? It gets tiring bro. You are the ones sowing these seeds, not us. Even real Zambian bloggers have stopped coming because of you and your friends. Either be respectful or we will ask Zamfoot to create login and registration so that antagonists can be filtered out. Freedom of expression is fine, but it doesn’t give your friends the right to be an A…s….s.

      • Trust me a group of Zambians invaded our soccer net from 201 to 2014..theywwe rowdier than we are.. At least our ppl are talking sense and laying down facts.

  12. We r here to rub it in your facws…no show u that u lost once again to Ghana….look….2-1…..oh wow there’s another 2-1 going… surprise surprise there goes another 2-1… oh boy oh boy…guess what……WHAT??? it’s 2 freaking 1… two ooooo ooooo o ooooo one is de final scores guys 2-1 sleep over it….sleep over it and tomorrow remember that always taking goals from behind kinda makes u look g*y…yeah…u know what I mean…1-0 up…to 2-1… oh no did I just say 2-1… yes I did yes I did….2—————-1

  13. go back to the previous thread to read their comments when they were leading a goal to nil..now those parasites have all vanished.if they had won,you would have seen strange names insulting us here and on gsn..mumbi and paradox started this when ghanaians stopped coming here so you must reap it..you can sue us for coming here if you can.otwe

  14. hahahahahaha the way thy can brag . like if thy won today hmmmmm like ther will disaster .learn to be humble and advice ur coaches to stop bragging during matches this is mostly attributed mostly to the south african regions .thy can brag even if a bal is not kicked waaaaaaat what a people

    • Luck is part of the game process.
Just be humble and study from countries like Ghana, Nigerua, Ivory Coast , Mali etc etc
Humility is a trait u lack. John, take a lesson from thus even in real life & not pnly football

  15. Ghana has eliminated Zambia again from other wc!

Ghana eliminated Zambia in the all African games!!

Ghana eliminated Zambia from the Olympic qualifers in Accra!!

Ghana in 2011, eliminated Zambia from the African under 17 WC qualifers in Accra!!

Ghana eliminated Zambia from the 2014 WC qualifers when they bashed them in Kumasi after they have been given three free points by FIFA!!

And come 2015 AYC and Ghana has END THEIR DREAMS AGAIN!

The only time they had eliminated Ghana was in 1988 ssoul Olympics when qualify by goal difference!!

What I don’t even understand is that, ghanaians has not been making noise about this but they always want to concentrate on Ghana leaving other teams to qualify along side ghana by beating them!!

It has been 5 SOLID TIMES GHANA HAS ELIMINATED AND DENIED THEM qualification to major football events

With ghana, Zambia ll never qualify to the WC haha

    • To add to ur stats: Ghana has met Zambia four times in u20 level and in all occasions Ghana has beaten and eliminated Zambia. In 1991 they met twice in group stage and third place playoff. Ghana won both matches. Ghana again beat Zambia 3-0 in the semi-finals in 1999 in Accra, and finally 2-1 yesterday.

  16. even when thy qualifier wat are thy going to do at world cup.thy are rather going to disgrace africa at the end of the day.these are the true reflections of african countries bound to represent africa at any world cup level ghana and nigeria and to some extent cote d ivore and cameroon.u guys are just been despirate to be at the world cup.and that will be very difficult to acheive when u guys are not ready to learn and apreciate other countries effort

  17. Wow, just saw highlights and that offside decision was a travesty. Either way, this is football, referees are human too. Zambia looked very good from the little I saw, created plenty of chances. So it’s not all doom and gloom, there is talent in that team. Let’s just nurture these young men. There is at least 2 or 3 that should be regulars in the senior team in the future.

    • My admiration for u never ends. I have not seen the game but believe u. It is a game . Groom the young ones for 2017 & 2018.

  18. We should keep on grooming our boys. We are moving in the right direction. The Olympics qualifiers are coming let’s keep grooming these boys. Zambia is standing toe to toe with west Africa we will match them eventually. We just need to keep trying and investing in better coaches at senior level. I strongly feel Janza should now be fired and replaced with a European coach.

    • Yes, standing toe to toe with the West Africans? No, No , No. The Westerners are standing while you are crawling. You will then sit down before you stand up. You are nowhere near the West Africans.

  19. We are hosting the next under 20 afcon we should carry on. The team I saw today has massive talent and Ghana survived. That goal was a clear one had it stood the complexion of the game would have changed. Against Mali zambia hit the upright and were unfortunate to concede through a set piece. The team is massively talented especially when attacking. Let them be groomed for the Olympics.

    • Hitting the upright is one of your achievements for the U20? Holala !!! What a feat!!!!!! The next achievement is going home by losing only two matches.

  20. The referees have cost zambia and given Ghana a ticket to the world cup. I have just seen the highlights Ghana’s first goal should never have stood and zambia scored a clear goal which was ruled offside. If caf wants to maintain any decency it must discipline the referee who disallowed that goal. He has cost a nation a world cup place! We are tired of west Africans ruling caf. Let them punish that ref.

    • Zambians and excuses. Can’t stop laughing. If this had been that, and if that was this, we would have been that,…. aaaaaahhh? Have u watched ur go, when ur attaker slightly obstructed the Ghanaian player to miskick? You guys are only best at finding excuses.

  21. The boys gave an account of themselves, this time they were let down by two things.
    1. Bad decisions by the match officials who disallowed the 2nd goal.
    2. Lack of tactics & Clinical finishing in front the goal. If the team had
a proper COACH they would have won the match by more than 3 goals.
Movement & positioning of strikers in the D area lacks in all Zambian
teams, especially with balls coming from wings.

  22. Here he goes again John doing what John does….never learning to accept defeat…u are now playing the wht if games whiles Ghana is playing the real game…see what makes us different? u see why we call ya’ll minnows?… instead of accepting the situation as it is and working on it….u never do that but are rather content with pointing fingers and wailing…this is the part where we Ghanaians feed your ego small by saying…” yeah Zambia outplayed Ghana ” then ya’ll will now feel good about yourselves thereby bringing this same trash and expecting marvellous results…be real zambia be as real as the 2-1 we gave you….a word to the wise…

  23. Listen because u r all proud people…the players have become very proud too yes they stink of pride…it shows in their movement and demeanour… they are coming home but in their mind they have been told to be proud of themselves cos they worked hard….i don’t believe in that at alllll….what should they be proud about??? inject these small boys with some TOUGH LOVE…yes shun them let them know they are shit…try it on your U17 and bring them for the U20 tournament and see if they won’t strive to regain favour in your sights…the players are always in their comfort zone…lose win or draw
.WHY?? Out a lil fire under them and see magic.

They will truly make u proud after

  24. Let the fire burn them…if it burns them they will come to the party…not to donate points(2-1) but to struggle for points….and actually make something good for themselves

  25. This result vindicates that we need to hire a foreign coach, fire the entire bench together with corrupt ‘manager’ .Pick boys on merit rather than on affiliations and connections within FAZ….

  26. after today I quit this site, will only be back when Zambia try to get in the way of Mighty Ghana at any level. Meanwhile we will be expecting mumbi and paradox on gsn. They are simply shameless.

  27. @ ZUBEKLI u are right, how honestly do u give HECTOR CHILOMBO to LEAD a national team, the guy has never offered any thing at club level and u give him room to lead a national team; pathetic. it is time to show Kalusha the door out of FAZ.

  28. the only thing this zambians are good at is “we played well but…the game was ours but…they stole it from us”..when maradona scored with his hand, they called it “the hand of God”..provided the referee accepted that goal,it will have been draw and ghana would have been at 4 point whiles you would tap at one point, and any draw with mali will eliminate you whiles you are not assured to beat rsa..stop shouting as if you would have qualified if the game was draw..your coach make noise just like you.Nigeria will kick your ass as well in the u23 qualifies

  29. Where does all this Ghana-Zambia rivalry comes from? Hope it is just on this website…Zambia is not and has never been our rivals…Ghana has always had rivalry with Nigeria but not Zambia…Someone told me to come to this website before Zambia came to Kumasi and I was shocked for the comments I read…In Ghana many even didn’t take Zambia that serious even after beating us twice i.e. AFCON and in the first WC qualifier game in Zambia. There were many who didn’t know about the game until the week before yet the noise from Zambians was just too much to handle. You see even after Zambian beating us twice we still knew you couldn’t beat us….The first one was fluke and the second one was normal because it was your home and many nations win their home games anyway. The problem with Zambia is you became very crazy after winning that AFCON. You thought you had arrived. Anyway this is just U20 and I don’t even take it that serious so where is all this rivalry coming from?

  30. Next is under 23 qualifiers!!!

Team: Mangani Banda, S Sautu, Lubambo Musonda, Patson Daka, Dave Daka , Charles Zulu………

We are not developing talent. Under 17, 20 or 23 does not mean small looking men from Zambia B or C. It has to be new and developing talent.

I was feeling shame to see Lubambo Musonda and Charles Zulu who were part of the AFCON qualifiers and Finals coming to line up in Senegal.

My conclusion: Let’s sit and enjoy what we have. Don’t say we have Messi or Ronaldo!!!
