Zambia Super League side, Zesco United, has confirmed the departure of head coach George ‘Chicken’ Lwandamina after the club and the former Mufulira Wanderers defender reached a mutual agreement.
Zesco confirmed the development in a post on its official website. Lwandamina returned to Zesco for his second spell in 2018 having left them to join the Jangwani Boys, Yanga SC in 2016.
“Ndola, (Tuesday, 22nd September 2020)– ZESCO United Football Club management and club head coach, George Lwandamina have mutually agreed to separate with immediate effect.”
Zesco United Chief Executive Officer, Richard Mulenga thanked the 57 year old for the services rendered to the club.
“ZESCO United Football Club management would like to thank coach George Lwandamina for his services in the last three seasons which resulted in the team winning two league titles and one Absa Cup trophy,” Mulenga told the club’s official website.
Mulenga has also disclosed that the club will soon be announcing a new full-time head coach ahead of the 2020/2021 FAZ/MTN Super League season as they will immediately begin the recruitment process for a new gaffer.
