GBWFC trio off to Kazhakstan

Green Buffaloes Women’s Football Club trio of defender Martha Tembo, striker Hellen Chanda and midfielder Ireen ‘Xavi’ Lungu have left for Kazakhstan. 

The trio who will travel via South Africa left from the Kenneth Kaunda international Airport at 08:00 hrs. 

The three players have signed two-year deals with Kazakhstan Champions, BIIK Kazygurt Shymkent.

The Copper Queens trio will now be based in Shymkent until October 2024 subject to renewal and will compete in the Kazakhstani championship. 

The trio’s move to the 16-time champions brings the number of Copper Queens players abroad to 12.

Others are Hellen Mubanga, Barbara Banda, Misozi Zulu, Hazel Nali, Natasha Witika, Margaret Belemu, Rachael Kundananji, Rachael Nachula and Grace Chanda.
