Friday Samu starts against Ivory Coast

Chipolopolo Boys coach Wedson Nyirenda has handed a starting berth to Friday Samu for tonight’s mouthwatering CHAN 2018 Group B tie against Ivory, the ZamFoot Crew can exclusively reveal.

With Alex Ng’onga failing a fîtness test to a groin injury, Wada Wada has gone for the Green Buffaloes striker.

The 23 year old striker was one of the high scoring Zambian striker last season with 12 goals and helped his club to a third place finish.

With Ng’onga out, Wada Wada’s other attacking options are Martin Phiri and Chanda Mushili.

Samu will be looking to stamp his authority on this tournament after his disaster showing at the Senegal 2015 Olympics qualifier.

Together with Donashamo Malama, he is other player in the starting line-up not from the big two clubs; Zanaco and Zesco United.

  1. The coach should have replaced Mtonga with Larry Bwalya . there is no creativity in the middle of the pack. there are too many defense minded players in the midfield. That is the reason Zambia struggled against Uganda in the first half.We cannot just be kicking the ball upfront. That is not Zambian football.
