Konkola Blades and in-form Nchanga Rangers collide in a high-stakes derby fuelled by pride, points and passion.
KCM Chief Executive Officer Malcolm Mewett confirmed the initiative ahead of Saturday’s clash between Konkola Blades and Nchanga Rangers, scheduled for 31 January 2026 at Konkola Stadium, with kick-off at 15:00 hours.
As part of the initiative, children from the One Way Mission Children’s Centre in Chililabombwe—an institution supported by KCM—have been specially invited to attend the match and experience the derby atmosphere.
Mr Mewett said the fixture offers families from Chingola, Chililabombwe and surrounding areas an opportunity to come together through football, reinforcing unity, social interaction and community engagement.
Konkola Blades, one of Zambia’s most historic clubs and long supported by KCM, have a rich tradition of talent development, having produced national stars such as Stoppila Sunzu and the late Dennis Lota.
They face an in-form Nchanga Rangers, who sit third on the league table and are firmly in the race for continental qualification. Rangers head into the derby with confidence following a midweek victory over Kabwe Warriors.
The KCM Derby is widely regarded as one of the most fiercely contested fixtures in Zambian football, with pride and supremacy at stake between the two sister clubs—alongside crucial league points.
Saturday’s showdown promises a blend of rivalry, ambition and community spirit at Konkola Stadium.
