Forest Rangers edged Buildcon in a seven-goal thriller to move into the top four. The top three teams all failed to win as they could only settle for a point in their matches to make sure the there were no changes in the top 3.
Fole Malembe and Team Kopala locked horns in a Ndola derby. New acquisition Quadri Kola walked straight into the starting line up as Zikiru Adams dropped to the bench.
Malembe took the lead just after seven minutes thanks to a Webster Muzaza strike. Donald Teguru levelled matters in the 17th minute before Muzaza could put the ZAFFICO sponsored outfit back in the lead.
Zikiru Adams came from the bench to extend the lead. Jafaru pulled one back from the spot before Joseph Kanema’s long-range strike could bring the match back to level terms.
Forest Rangers were awarded a late penalty, Zikiru Adams stepped up and made no mistake to hand Forest Rangers a 4-3 win and move them to fourth place and dropping Zesco United to fifth place.
The top three teams Nkana, Green Eagles and Napsa Stars all failed to secure maximum points as they all played to goalless draws in their matches.
Nkana were held by Mufulira Wanderers, Napsa Stars drew with Lusaka dynamos while Green Eagles played to a goalless draw with Nakambala Leopards.
In Kabwe, KYSA won the bragging rights to the town as they beat Kabwe Warriors 1-0. Stephen Chulu’s second-half goal was enough to secure maximum points.
At Edwin Imboela, Friday Samu scored the only goal of the game as Green Buffaloes beat Kansanshi Dynamos to move up to 9th place.
